Akoma is a week-long celebration of African and Latin dance, music, and culture in Cape Town, held November 26–30, 2025.
The festival features world-class workshops, live music, DJ sets, performances, and cultural showcases across multiple styles—Afro-beat, salsa, bachata, kizomba, and traditional African dances. Artists and instructors from South Africa, Ghana, Togo, Kenya, Angola, and more converge to share their heritage through rhythm, movement, and storytelling.
With daytime dance classes and evening parties, Akoma brings a vibrant, immersive experience that reflects the spirit of Ubuntu and pan-African unity. Events take place at the Homecoming Centre (District Six Museum) and partner venues across the city.
